Skin cancer is a malignant development on the skin which can have many causes. The most familiar skin cancers are basal cell cancer, squamous cell cancer, and melanoma. Skin cancer generally develops in the epidermis (the outermost layer of skin), so a tumor is usually clearly visible. This makes most skin cancers detectable in the early stages. There are three familiar and probable types of skin cancer, each of which is called after the type of skin cell from which it arises. Unlike numerous other cancers, including those originating in the lung, pancreas, and stomach, just a small minority of those afflicted will actually die of the disease
There are a range of different skin cancer effects. These consist of alterations in the skin that do not heal, ulcering in the skin, discolored skin, and changes in existing moles, such as jagged edges to the mole and enlargement of the mole.
Basal cell carcinoma typically looks like a raised, smooth, pearly bump on the sun-vulnerable skin of the head, neck or shoulders. Occasionally small blood vessels can be seen within the tumor. Crusting and bleeding in the centre of the tumor regularly develops. It is often mistaken for a sore that does not heal. This form of skin cancer is the least deadly and with appropriate treatment can be entirely eliminated, regularly without scarring.
Squamous cell carcinoma is frequently a
red, scaling, thickened patch on sun-exposed skin. Ulceration and bleeding may appear. When SCC is not treated, it may develop into a large mass. Squamous cell is the second most common skin cancer. It is dangerous, but not nearly as dangerous as a melanoma.
A large amount melanomas are brown to black looking lesions. Warning signs that may indicate a malignant melanoma involve change in size, shape, color or elevation of a mole. Other signs are the appearance of a new mole during adulthood or new pain, itching, ulceration or bleeding.
Merkel cell carcinomas are most often rapidly growing, non-tender red, purple or skin colored bumps that are not painful or itchy. They may be mistaken for a cyst or other type of cancer.
Although it is impossible to fully eliminate the possibility of skin cancer, the risk of developing such a cancer can be reduced significantly with the following steps:
Keep away from the usage of tobacco products.
Reducing overexposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation, mainly in early years
Avoiding sun exposure for the period of the peak UV times during the day, usually from 10 AM to 3 PM (dependant on country) when the sun is directly over head
Wearing protective clothing (long sleeves and hats) when outdoors
Using a broad-spectrum sunscreen that blocks both UVA and UVB radiation
Reapply sun block as per the manufacturers directions
Ensuring suitable unprotected exposure (15 minutes a day suggested maximum) to the sun to allow adequate Vitamin D formation.
Oily skin is caused by over-active sebaceous glands, that produce a essence named sebum a naturally healthy skin lubricant. When the skin produces disproportionate sebum it becomes important and thick in texture. Oily skin is typified by shininess, blemishes and pimples The oily-skin type is not necessarily bad, since such skin is less prone to wrinkling, or other signs of aging, because the oil helps to keep needed moisture locked into the epidermis (outermost layer of skin).
The negative aspect of the oily-skin type is that oily complexions are especially susceptible to clogged pores, blackheads and buildup of dead skin cells on the surface of the skin. Oily skin can be sallow and rough in texture and tends to have large, clearly visible pores everywhere, except all-around the eyes and neck.
The purpose of treating oily skin is to remove excess surface sebum without complete removal of skin lipids Harsh degreasing treatment can foster an actual worsening of sebum secretion, which defeats the aim of the cleansing. A approach} of cleansing oily skin is to cleanse with a natural face cleanser formulated especially for oily skin. The cleansers pH should be 4.5 – 5.5, from the time when the skin’s pH value is approximately 5.4. Gel cleansers work best on oily skin. Oily skin products should contain very little natural oils. They should not contain or other synthetic lipid agents that could aggravate the oily condition of the skin. A toning lotion should also be natural and have a pH of 4.5-5.5 and formulated especially to help balance and hydrate oily skin. Some cleansing products have lower concentrations of hydroxy acids which remove dead cells from the upper levels of the stratum corneum . Those products should be used on a habitual basis to work effectively.
Both men and women have oily skin this is not something so negative. From the time when, as we know to have oily skin brings much good to our skin is less expected to have signs of aging. Of course we can easily control the level of sebum in it. All this using a good facial cleanser that is adapted to our skin type.
